Our
Educational
Program

...is designed to be fun and interesting, with an emphasis on teaching respect for all animals.

A couple of the many letters we have received.

Dear Dean,

I am writing to let you know just how much we enjoyed your presentation. The children were delighted with every aspect of the program. As their teacher, I cannot tell you just how much I appreciated the sensitivity you showed towards the animals as well as to our young audience. The information and respect you managed to impart while handling such a dazzling variety of animals was truly unusual.

We have had several animal programs visit our classroom. Curious creatures is by far the most instructive and enriching program we have had to date. Although the program was very entertaining, the emphasis on respecting wildlife and treating it with caution and care was most apparant throughout the program. What a wonderful way of enlighting young children about our natural world.

Thank you again for coming to visit us. The teachers and children of Deerfield Preschool were truly touched by everything we heard and saw. Rosanna Patterson, Deerfield School, Westwood, MA

Dear Dean,

I am writing to let you know how wonderfully exciting the visit was from Curious Creatures to our Kindergartens at the Shaughnessy School last week. The presentation of interesting and exotic animals thrilled both students and teachers alike. The children being allowed to handle the animals in a way that fostered respect and caring was a very important part of the presentation, not found with similar traveling zoos.

This was the first time for many of our children to be exposed to exotic animals. They learned a very important lesson about all animals. They learned that no matter how fierce some animals appear to be, if treated with kindness and respect, they have little to fear. This seems to have created more interest in animals in general.

Ryan, the gentleman who presented the animals, was very knowledgeable, patient and sensitive to the children and their questions. His manner and methods helped to encourage continued interest in each animal.

I'm hoping the Shaughnessy kindergartens will be able to have Curious Creatures Zoo as an annual event. As a result of this very exciting and unique visit, don't be surprised to see children from the Shaughnessy visiting you in Peabody with their families. Copies of your brochure were sent home with each child.

I also plan on sharing your information with colleagues in the area so that more children can benefit from this wonderful experience.

Sincerely,

Rosemary Janco
